“My back has been the main challenge I have faced for many years. I chose to try hands-on Somatics sessions with Ryan and regularly did the suggested somatic maintenance movements at home. The results helped me and soon my workouts had more energy and were more impactful in my physical wellbeing…” John G.
"... My atlas orthogonist did her best, but finally told me that the muscles on the left side of my head and neck were so tense, they were pulling my atlas out of position. That sent me into utter despair, because I had always held my body like a clenched fist, and no amount of meditation, medication, exercise, or conscious effort had made any lasting difference. I went back to my internist, who said, “Well, if the problem this time is your nerves and muscles, not your bones, then I recommend you contact Ryan Moschell. I’ve worked with him myself and he’s excellent.” " Bonnie C.
"Ryan photographed me at the beginning of the session and then showed me the first set of exercises. Just a few, easy to do movements, that while requiring concentration, were not physically challenging. The difference was immediate and apparent to me physically and Ryan took my photo again before leaving and showed how my body could relax and ‘untwist’ from my daily tightened state to a more natural state." Darryl B.
"...I can't express what a difference it makes to once again be free from chronic pain -- it has changed my whole outlook on life and improved my mood dramatically. I am now able to comfortably run 10+ miles, bicycle for several hours and swim over 2500 yards (resume my normal triathlon training regimen) and do so with zero pain. I'm also a much nicer person to be around :) I am so relieved to know that chronic pain is not a sentence for the rest of my life, and I don't have to accept that as part of the 'normal' aging process..." "My first ride after the sessions: Due to confidence problems over the last few years, I had too much of a thigh grip in the saddle. This time I did not and my horse went into the canter so much smoother and I was able to follow the motion much more fluently. Also, in riding the image is conveyed “let your legs hang down like a wet towel draped over your arm”. Well, I think I felt this for the first time. My instructor told me after the first canter depart to do that again so that your horse will know you have changed an this is the “new you!” Evi
"Right now since being back I have a lot of energy and most of the time I am not sore and when I am sore I do slow pandiculations and I am pain free. As of today I am starting mat work movements that will summarized into into a short very few minutes twice a day daily routine. This stuff is exciting. I also see how my emotions contributed to SMA ( big) in addition to injuries. Well the work has made me more patient when I take a physical challenge on..." Harvey K.
"To my delight I can report improvement in my riding. My legs feel longer in the stirrups, meaning that my pelvic muscles are loosening. I can now access my ‘whole’ left side (back and legs) on the horse. This is allowing me finally to make balance adjustments and prevents falling in by one horse and helps alleviate a stiff left side reaction from another horse. My coach agrees that my riding has improved. Additionally I can breathe more freely..." Mary Anne
I’ve been seeing Ryan now for 10 years as a massage therapist. When I started seeing him I was struggling with diabetes, on multiple medications, over weight and in pain almost every day from fibromyalgia. Over the years I have lost weight, I’m running half – marathons, gotten off most of my medications, and most of my pain is now manageable. My life is very busy managing a real estate office, caring for my husband, being a devoted mother and soon to be grandmother, and training for more half – marathons. So day-to-day stress still builds up. Recently I was having painful symptoms of what had been diagnosed as fibromyalgia..." Trish
"The benefits are Amazing… increased neck and shoulder mobility, my chronic hip bursitis is alleviated! Having been a lifelong asthma sufferer I can use the breathing techniques and chest/ back stretches and contractions to calm my chest tightness and asthma reactions to allergies and pollen sometimes even without the aid of medication. It is a huge step for me to not feel the panic from a tight chest and asthma symptoms..." Elizabeth
